anyway, uk comic conventions aren't as big over there. but there's enough stuff to get busy with. managed to get autographs from jock and charlie adlard, these are guys are just so nice.always accomodating and approachable to fans. they did some sketches but they're not free though, which was totally understandle. they do pay for the tables. saw familiar faces there- liam sharp, phil windslade, john watson and to my surprise MICHAEL GOLDEN!! i think that was a treat. a few costumed people as well which is always entertaining (not to my daughter though, got scared by the 'joker'
the climax obviously was my meeting with michael wright, a dc editor. to summarise what he said--
he liked-- my layouts, storytelling, despite being so 'stylized' there is an audience and books for it (mentioned 'vertigo'
he didn't like- my colors (he thinks is not strenght), faces
i'm actually really happy how it turned out. it was my first time to show my work to an editor, so i was expecting worse. he also thought that maybe in a year or 2 i would be ready and actually get a job in comics. so from here, i got something to come home with. practice on those he pointed out and come back with much stronger portfolio.
i also showed my work to the publisher of markosia. he basically said the same thing about the 'faces', storytelling and layouts. but he was much more interested in my cover works, he really liked one my green arrow stuff. stuff he would definitely he would publish.
i guess its only about 80 % of my portfolio impressed the editors. so i gotta strive to achieve that 100% next time.
end of rant

i use a really old brush

Every beginning, after all,
is nothing but a sequel,
and the book of events
is always open in the middle.
